NORFOLK BOWLS ASSOCIATION
Coaching Bursary – Coach Bowls Level 1
The recruitment of new bowlers must be a priority for us all as we move forward, and once new bowlers are attracted to our sport, coaching then becomes a further priority.
Coaching courses are available through Coach Bowls, and several of our members have already achieved a Level 1 qualification through the scheme.
Bowls England offer a bursary towards Coach Bowls course fees amounting to 50% of the fee for two members of an affiliated club over a two-year period, subject to any age criteria set by Coach Bowls.
Norfolk Bowls Association Bursary
The Norfolk Bowls Association will also offer a 50% bursary for Level 1 Coach Bowls courses, following the same criteria as Bowls England—namely:
Up to two members per affiliated club
Either male or female
Over a two-year period
Subject to any age restrictions set by Coach Bowls
As a result, the full Level 1 course fee will be met when combining the Bowls England bursary with the Norfolk Bowls Association bursary.
The Level 1 course includes several coaching elements, including Coaching of Beginners. Details are available at:
https://www.coachbowls.org/courses/level-1-qualification-in-coaching-bowls/
Future Bursaries
At this stage, bursaries will not be offered for:
Level 2 Courses
Level 3 Courses
Other Coach Bowls programmes
However, this position will be reviewed in the future.
Bowls England’s bursary scheme does apply to all recognised Coach Bowls courses.
